This is my biggest fear when the both the 2004 Durango and the 2004 Dakota
R/T will be exploited by the dealership with price gauging.

I would love to see the Charger R/T with the hemi, but even if they do build
some, it will not be in the 24-30K range. The Intrepids are in that MSRP
range now! I can't believe DC would sell them for less than 35K, and that
doesn't include the dealers tacking on ridiculous surcharges for a limited
production run.

Sam, not when the 2003 Viper, which does the 0-60 in 3.95 seconds.
Looking at the new cars that will hit the street before 2005:
2003 GT Cruiser 225HP plus
2004 R/T Hemi Dakota 325HP plus w/o supercharger (weight is expected to be
3400lb)
2003 300M Hemi 353hp/353lb
2003 Neon SRT 220HP plus
So you are right....a mid size car is not in Dodge lineup to compare with
the Mustang Boss (2003 405HP) or the last 2002 Camaro SS (325). This is a
weakness on DaimlerChrysler behalf. I can agree on the expected consumer
purchases. Even Mazda is returning the RX-8 with a 1.3L with 280HP motor
around the 30K mark. I would think that at least DaimlerChrysler should put
the Charger R/T back in for 24-30K mark.

That was last years Vette, this year is even faster and it is, at this time
according to Car and Driver January 2002 faster in the quarter and 0 to 60.
For arguments sake lets say they're equal in the acceleration dept. it is
still a MUCH more affordable car. The point I was trying to make was Dodge
needs to build a car/truck that can compete with the Mustang/Camaro or
Lightning for the same price, they don't and haven't for a long time. One
way to achieve that goal is to cut some of the other performance cars in
favor of something everyone can afford.
