The only problem I have run into with switching to synthetis on higher
mileage engines is due to all the extra cleaning ingredients. On a
positive, yes, it will get your engine cleaner and cooler running. On the
downside, all the extra cleaning tends to remove the buildup that often
helps seal up the gaskets better. This means you may experience more oil
leaks at the valve covers, timing cover, front and rear main seals.
