I just did this over the Christmas Weekend. I too have the same truck (4x4)
and got the white pipe. All I did though after I cemented it was to sand it
a little and spray paint it a dark purple (to match the truck). I'll try to
get pictures soon to show.
You want to make sure that you get hi-temp PVC as to make sure that it won't
melt in the engine under extreme conditions. Personally, I don't think this
would happen unless there was metal to PVC contact or it's within 2-4"
(which it is not).
What I got was a 4" long or so Rubber tube that had dual clamps. One end
just fit over the PVC and I was able to tighten the other end to the smaller
stock air hat.
