Tom,
Glad to hear that the truck isn't completely toasted (literally). If you
find one or two functions that don't work, a quick fix would to cut the ends
of the wires in the harness clear, tape them over, and run new wires from
the original source to the device, wrapping them to the harness with cable
ties. It's not pretty but would save the cost of removing and replacing the
entire harness for a few functions. It's a lesson to all of us, never, never
connect something directly to the battery without a fuse and don't even put
a fuse in the holder until the wiring is completed and you are ready to,
pardon the expression, "smoke test" it.
