$14,000 is not to outrageous a price. You have to remember exchange rate
alone brings it down to about $9000 US. Most of the parts for this thing
have to come from the States. I know Turbo Technologies stuff out of
Washington state is basically bullet proof and that doesn't come cheap. I
saw their shop truck about 3 years ago and it put almost 1200HP to the rear
wheels and it was a daily driver!!!! The Magnum 360/380 HP crate motor from
my local dealer will cost me $5900 Canadian landed and that is just a long
block. $14,000 for a twin turbo, intercooled, injected and built motor
installed and dyno'd with a gaurantee that it will make a minimum HP is not
to crazy. Living in the great white north does have it's draw backs!!!
But to honest, I am leaning towards the Viper route anyways. For me to
purchase just the Viper V-10 crate motor alone is $21,000 landed at my local
dealer. For $4000 more, I get the whole car. Which means brakes,
transmission, suspension, wiring, computers, seats and the list goes on.
What I don't use, I can sell and make up some of my initial purchase.
Besides, I am really in no rush to get this project done (OK, you know what
I mean) I want it done properly and safely. Who else is going to have a
regular cab, quad cab box, Viper V-10/6 spd road burner R/T !!!!!

I think the Viper route is the way to go. Twin hairdryers whistling away
under the hood would be a blast also, but if I am going to go to this much
time and trouble to build this truck, why not go a little more and build
something a little more off center and open some eyes a little wider when I
pop the hood.

Besides, my wife said I could buy the Viper!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA :)

Just my 8 1/2 cents!

Jeff
