The only thing that BBQ's cats is an over rich mixture,
the cat gets hot and burns the gas. If there is no unburnt
gas, the cat does not get any hotter than the
headers/manifold
would.
You may have a fouled plug (dealer should have checked for
that
when replaceing cat) a missing cyl (dealer should have
checked)
but something is letting unburned gas into the tailpipe.
