It sounds like the the shifter needs to be adjusted. There is a bolt on the
Tcase that allows for the shifter to be adjusted. This dosent help much ,
but I remember on my 87 Dak I had a similar prob and the rebuilder (for the
tcase) just adjusted the shifter range. It would go into 4 lo but the light
wouldnt come on and it would pop out into neutral if you didnt hold the
lever back.
