Nope...you really need to remove the TB and IAC solenoid for a proper
cleaning.

if I remove the air hat on my 97, 318, start the engine and spray TB
cleaner on and around the IAC that can be seen on the back of the TB
behind the bores, that gets covered by the air hat? Will this do
anything as far as light cleaning (never had the solenoid off yet) or
just a waste of time? I told you it was a stupid question, just curious.
