Hi folks,

I just joined the Dakota list last night. I found out about on the
www.mydodgedakota.com web site.

I have a 2001 Dakota SLT QuadCab loaded with all the factory goodies
(leather, power, tow package, etc.) and I just finished the first round of
mods. Just the simple bolt on stuff.

So far I have a K&N intake kit, Westin Safari Bar with KC Highlighter lights,
Pace Edwards retractable bed cover, American Racing Thruster 6 spoke rims
with Goodyear Eagle GT II tires, and a Dodge catalog cargo light with power
outlet (wow, was that a pain to install).

My next step is to start in on the exhaust. Cat back system at least and
maybe the headers and Y-pipe if someone makes one. I have been looking at
Gibson for the cat back and JBA for headers, what are your opinions??

I am also interested in a supercharger. I prefer the screw type (Eaton,
Whipple, etc.), but I am not too interested in running 91/92 octane or having
to put booster in every time I fill up.

My dad talked to a guy from Magnuson (the distributor for Eaton) last summer
and he said that they were working on an application for Dodge 5.2 & 5.9
(318/360) motors. I sent them an email, but have not heard back.

Anyway, as for myself, I live in Santa Clara, CA (Silicon Valley). I just
finished my masters degree in business at Santa Clara University and I am
working at Adobe Systems (the software company) in San Jose. But even with
all that education, I am still pretty much a car guy... :)

My dad and I are hot rodders. Our collection currently consists of:

2001 Dakota QuadCab
1998 Chevy Tahoe 2D/2WD (Whipple charger, lowered, etc.)
1992 Chevy 1500 pickup (slammed, 4/6 drop, don't ask why)
1994 Pontiac Trans Am (my street/strip car, 14's @ 102 mph)
1935 Ford 1 1/2 ton flatbed truck (stock, flathead and all)
1934 Ford 1 1/2 ton flatbed truck ('53 Mercury flathead, hydraulic brakes, 12
volt, "city gears")
1940 Ford 2 door sedan (orginal steel body, custom chassis, Chevy 350 motor &
trans, Connolly (sp?) leather interior, and 12 gallons of Deltron Black pai
nt, your basic streetrod)
1933 Ford Phaeton, 4 door roadster (LT1 motor, 350 trans, custom chassis,
Corvette yellow, Goodguys 1997 Rod D'elegance winner)
1932 Ford roadster (Roy Brizio built car, Wescott body, ZZ5 Chevy Racing
crate motor, 700 trans, Currie rearend, this will be nice in 1/4 if I can get
the trans dialed in)
1932 Ford Muroc hi-boy roadster #8 (all steel, hand-made reproduction of a
'32 Ford made my Jerry Kugel in SoCal, only 10 of these were made, Kugel ID
front and rearend, Corvette Z06 motor and trans) This should be done in time
for the LA Roadster Show over Father's Day weekend.
1961 Pontiac Ventura 'bubble-top' (think lots of BIG pieces of glass, stock
body completely outfitted with 1998 Corvetter running gear, engine, trans,
suspension, etc.) Who knows when it will be done, but I can't wait to put it
through the timing gate on a 1/4 mile.

See you on the list...

Chris
