IF he had a video camera setup in his car, then you might have a case
against him...that's one thing that you need to find out as soon as
possible.... those cameras are there for your protection, too...not just
his...

If it shows that he acted impatiently, and without probable cause to require
blocking you off, then I'd say that you have a case decent case against him.
Not only that, but it could be said that he put you and your family in
unecessary danger.

You can also argue that you and your family's safety, and the safety of the
officer was a concern of yours as to why you tried to pull off at a safer
place...

My advice, is to get a good lawyer...explain everything to him... make sure
that if there was a camera in the police car, that the footage is reviewed.
The camera is supposed to start the second he turns his lights on (code
2)...

Most likely, if you do win, the judge would drop all charges...

Good luck!

> Hi all, been a long time lurker here with a 2001 quad.
> Well today, Received my first ticket in 15 years and made up for lost
time:) I was going 20 over the posted limit so I have to go to court,
problem is the officer was a real jerk and had a chip on his shoulder. He
perfomed a blocking manuever on me by pulling in front of me and my 3 kids
and wife who were with me forcing me to slam on my brakes and I still tapped
him gentlyhowever there was no damageto either vehicle.

> There was no safe way to stop on the extended offramp I was on and I
was planning to proceed slowly to the next exit in sight and pull over then,
I was slowing with my brakes on and my right blinker on to signal I did see
him and was pulling over. The total distance from where he pulled out and we
stopped was less than 3oo yards.
> My questions is, what steps do I take now? I have to go to court for
the speed, he also added eluding police after I asked if his badge and name
was on the ticket. I plan on filing a complint, Do I just plead my own case
in court? never had to do this before and hope some of you can offer advice.
I'm not interested in beating the speeding ticket, i was, the eluding police
is 12 points and I'd like to beat that one:)
