i believe your neighbor is in the right. Where I used to live , if you had
to leave your car on the street for ANY reason, you had to call the police
and tell them the plate number and type or else risk a ticket. As your
neighbor if it was me I would have ask you to move it as well. You have to
SHARE the street and neighborhood with every one. Everyone has their own
driveway. Why should one person be allowed to block the street when knowone
else can? Sounds like you just need to fix the oil leak and clean the
garage.

Sorry

Joe

Subject: DML: neighbor problems. (long)

Okay, our house has a lot of cars that goes in and out. My (new) neighbor
is a pretty bad prick.

anywho. We live on a cul-de-sac and we have 4 cars at our house. 1 garage
bay is full of home improvement left overs that has yet to be cleared and my
parents crappy mini-van leaks oil like a @#$##.

anywho. it's a 2 "lane" driveway, and my dakota and my little winter beater
takes up the left side. The right side of the drive way is reserved for my
parents to park inside so oil doesnt' get tracked (any worse) onto the
driveway. and my sister usually parks behind the dakota extended into the
cul-de-sac. but DIRECTLY behind the dakota...
I have to leave for work at 6:30 in the morning and it's hard enough to
reposition cars as it is and get to work on time.

anywho. since it's a cul-de-sac, there's no extra room on the "side of the
road" to parallel park, so we park directly behind our driveway.

SO... here's where newbie neighbor comes in. he comes over and tells me
that this is illegal and that he wants an immediate resolution to the
problem, blah blah. then he goes and says that "Since you are illegally
parking your cars, if my wife backs out and hits you. it's YOUR fault" and
this is when the cars are directly behind OUR driveway. not 2 or more cars,
just 1 friggin car sticking out of the driveway.

I wasn't trying to be a prick to the guy, but i had 3 hours of sleep the
previous night and my girlfriend and I weren't on the best of terms, so I
ignore his comment. So. in front of his 4 or 5 year old daughter, he comes
over acting all hard wanting to fight me. and I politely ask him to not act
childish and use vulgar language in front of his kid, and that if he wants
to resolve it, to please send his child inside..

but he doesn't and throws a fit.

anyways, the rest is itty bitty details. but what do you guys say? A guy
backs you and hits your car and it's your fault when it's your vehilce
parked behind YOUR driveway in a cul-de-sac

I can probably make a quick drawing in paint to help further illustrate the
matter. Can anyone please help me? Can I do something legally against the
guy? or will the city police laugh at me and tell me I'm wrong? I mean,
if i'm wrong, then I'm wrong. I just hate it when you have people that can
use the excuse of "oh, my wife is a bad driver, and she'll hit your car one
day" (and in the back of your mind you think, and you guys have kids? What
if oyu back over THEM??""

how friggin hard is it to turn around and look AS A DRIVER!!! so you don't
back into other things/people/property ????

am I being a rude neighbor and is he being a rude neighbor?
