Tony, and the rest of the DML...
I am not sure what you mean by skinnies...
We did see a beautiful Amethyst up in the vendor section close to the
stands. In fact, I stopped by in order to ask what the color was, as on
Saturday it appeared blue but on Sunday I could see it was not. Now I now
what Deep Amethyst looks like... I did catch up with the diesel boys on
Sunday. They were super nice and real happy to talk about the trucks. Let
me look them over real close and ask a lot of questions. Real nice folks.
We missed the burnout contest on Saturday, but we did hear that the Dak won
it.
For the rest of the DML, y'all truly missed an event. If you like Mopars
this was definitely the place to be. My hats off to the North Georgia Mopar
Club for sponsoring this event, and especially for putting it on down here
in middle GA. I am sure there are a lot of strips closer to their
membership, but I am very grateful they put it on down here.
Highlights for us this year:
1. Several Daks ran this year,
2. A diesel Ram 2500 running in the upper 11's!
3. A diesel Dak running in the upper 12's, this jewel was street legal!
4. Vipers, Vipers, Vipers!
5. Two Superbirds running side by side down the track! Mostly show, but
how many Superbirds did you see this past weekend? And how many were
racing?
6. The show cars were in the grass this year, much better for everyone.
7. Parts galore, if you are restoring some old Mopar muscle, this was
were you needed to be!
8. Some great vendors
9. Super strawberry ice cream at the farm stand across the road from the
track
And oh yes, James won a $100 gift certificate on Sunday!
