Got a question (mystery is better fitting) for you all...I have a 98 Dakota
Sport 3.9L...the problem is that the other day while in NY my truck made
that "whining" noise vehicles do when the power steering pump is low on
fluid while turning into my driveway. I popped the hood and the pump was
filled to the correct level. The next day I had to drive back to NC where
I'm stationed. The whole time my truck made that "whining" noise...and when
I got to the barracks I noticed a leak and checked the pump again and it was
bone dry. I cleaned the leak up and filled it with more fluid to see where
it's leaking from, but that was 2 days ago and there is no leak. Freak
thing or what? I'm concerned that the pump may be going out on me...but
don't want to replace it if it's not necessary. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
