Hey Jack & Ray!
I too purchased a Extang tonneau cover, but I did it back in 1992! 10 years
and 300,000 miles later, it still works great! Yes, some of the stitching
isn't perfect, but there has been no defects or issues since I bought it.
Plus, it is a relatively local company for me - Ann Arbor, Michigan (Go
Blue!).
Highly recommended to go with the Extang brand, soft cover. One of the
strong points is the offset snaps. Basically, you can turn the snaps over to
make the cover tighter or looser based on the weather. Thus, you minimize
the issues with shrinkage in the winter and the loose fitting in the summer.
I prefer the soft simply because I can unsnap a corner to have wood extend
while trapping it so it doesn't slide around. It's also a quick minute to
roll it up or snap it shut.

Jack,
I haven't bought mine yet but I know what I am going to get. Check
out Extang tonneau covers at www.extang.com. They have a nice soft cover
that fits the Dak for less then $200 and you can probably find it for less
searching the web. If you have a toolbox on your truck, they have a cover
to works with the toolbox too. What I was looking for and Extang offers, is
a cover that mounts on a rail system (don't want any holes drilled in the
body of my truck), can work with my toolbox, and has a good warranty.
Extang offers 3 years on the tarp and lifetime on the rail system. Thats
about as good as they come these days. They also offer the tarp in
different colors if you want to match it to your truck.
