The point being that it take more energy to jump a larger gap. If the coil
can not produce enough current, no spark will happen.

If the gap is too wide (.050), they may not always fire properly. Gap
them as recommended.

i used to have msd on my truck but i had to take it off. i left the
plugs at
the recommened .050 gap for when using msd. the truck starts and runs
alright. what performance loss would there be if any if i were to leave
them
at .050 instead of the factory .035. what other things would i gain or
lose
by leaving them where they are ?
