It shouldn't "ping" even from the initial installation. Granted, the
4.7L takes more than 300 miles to learn, but again..it shouldn't be
pinging like that.

I talked to Ed yesterday and he has the same noise and he swears
it's
pinging. I don't think he has a reflashed PCM. We talked about cam
timing and
he said he's going to check the cam timing just to make sure it's right.
He said his getting better like the PCM is learning the new settings
but
