I got approx. 60k on my '98 Kota and I've never changed the shocks. I do the "bounce test" every now and again and the truck still settles quickly.
My stupid question is this, is there some compelling reason to change the shocks just 'cause their old or can I just wait until they start to fail the bounce test??

The shocks don't hold up the truck, the springs do. I put a pair of
jackstands under the axle and dropped the spare. From there, have a
