I'm certainly no fan of Ford, but I would argue that Ford is
responsible for *starting* the latest surge of interest in "super
trucks", with their 2nd generation Lightning. Who cares that its
got a blower, and reliability issues aside, the fact remains that
while Chevy and Dodge were playing around with half hearted attempts
and lip service to performance (Silverado SS, S-10 Xtreme, Dakota R/T,
Ram SS/T), Ford went and dropped an honest to goodness 13 second truck
into their showrooms. While there have been fast trucks in the past
(Warlock, Syclone, Typhoon), I am confident that the latest surge
in trucks with the motor to match the hype (latest silverado SS,
Ram SRT-10, etc.) were influenced in no small part by the appearance
and success of the 2nd generation Lightning, so I'll give kudos to
where they are due - in this case, to Ford!

Oh man, NOW I'm talking about Fords! What's next??? ;-)
