The reason there will be no calander this year is bacause of a lack of
interest in it, as Andy already said.
Jon posted several times requesting that people send in pictures of
their trucks, months ago. I don't think he has even recieved one picture
yet. This really is a shame. The idea of a DML calander is a great
thing. Jon has unfortunatly not had top success with it over the past
couple years and I don't blame him if the calander isnt done anymore. He
got stuck with a stack of 2000 and 2001 calanders that no one bought,
after people said they would buy one.
If it is ending up draining the DML coffers, with low interest... why
should there be a calander? Sorry to rant here...
All in all - if there can be enough interest generated for a calander -
I would still be in support of a 2003 being printed up - - even if it
could not be ready before the new year. Just so that the yearly
calander does not fall by he side of the road.
Anyone else with me?????
Also - just because the year is no longer 2000 or 2001, I would buy a
calander from those year for two good reasons... I want to collect them
and hang them on the wall of my new garage ... and to support this
wonderful Mopar Truck club of ours. Which in fact I did... I own a
2000, 2001 and a 2002 Calander.
With around 1000 members... I find it hard to believe that we couldnt
scrounge up a couple dozen photos to send into Jon to have everyone vote
on for a calander. I am guilty too however - I didn't send pictures to
Jon either. I have been trying to find my film from the BBQ.
I dunno about anyone else - but in the last year or so I have noticed a
large drop in group participation. Seems just the regulars are active
anymore. The DML Meet report page shows this trend well. So far this
year there was only one meet report posted! From 1999 to 2002 there was
a steady drop in meet reports being posted.
I'm not totally stupid here. I understand everyone has a personal and a
family life to deal with. I myself am in the middle of packing up and
sorting out 22 years worth of collected junk at this house I live in
now, and moving up to Wisconsin. No small feat. So I am taking that
into account. Not trying to offend anyone or start a flame war. Thats
not why I joined the DML. I just dont want to se the DML fade away here
folks!!
Ther eare some very very slick and hot trucks out there to be proud of -
show them off!!
We should all be ashamed of ourselves, myself included - if there is
no DML Calander for 2003.
I'll get off the soap box before I stuff my foot any farther in my mouth.
