Update to Starting Joy

Hmmm... Rather disappointing.

I rechecked all of the wiring going to/from the starter, nothing was loose.
I cleaned up all of the electrical contacts inside and outside the starter
with sand paper. I made sure that as I put each piece together, everything
was shiny copper. All electircal connections were tightened down very
snugly. Once I had the starter back in the vehicle, the fingers were
crossed and the key turned. Nothing... I checked the negative cable on the
battery, it was ever so slightly loose, so I tightened it up and gave it
another shot. It started, three times in a row, no less. I decided that I
would let things sit, and see what happened in a few minutes. Well, the
damned thing won't start any more. The only thing I did was take the truck
off the jackstands, so I'm guessing something got jostled. Unlike before,
the solenoid in the starter now clicks every time. I suppose that's better
than nothing at all. Unfortunately, now I have to figure out why the damned
motor isn't getting any juice to turn the damn thing.

The weird part is, while I had the starter out, I took it down to the parts
store and had a buddy of mine throw it on the testing machine they have
there. The stupid thing worked without a hitch! I'm really, really open to
any ideas you guys may have on this one.
