War was declared in 1991, and a cease fire was called on the condition that
Iraq meet the terms set forth by the UN. 12 years later, the terms have not
been met, nor will Saddam ever meet them by choice. Do you honestly think
another 30 days will make a difference? I had two Uncles in Vietnam, one has
his name on a nice wall in Washington, and I just visited his grave next to
my grandfathers a few weeks ago. Vietnam was a cluster you know what not
because of why, but because of how it was fought. The difference here is we
are not trying to protect someone else, we are protecting ourselves. Saddam
keeps saying he has no WMD, but recent defectors are giving intelligence
that he's issuing Mustard and VX shells to his troops. How long do you think
it will be before this stuff ends up on our shores. I'm glad you made it
back from Vietnam, and I hope you were at least ignored when you came back,
instead of being spit on like my other Uncle.(he weighed 195 lbs when he
left for Vietnam, he came back in a wheelchair weighing 96 lbs, and was spit
on by some war protester.) But I have to ask you, is that the way you want
or soldiers treated when they come back, spit on and jeered. This war is
something that has to be done, now or thirty days from now. But every day we
wait, the closer it will be to home.

On a side note, I have to apologize for item #3. It's not right of me to
threaten another person for expressing their views, no matter how stupid.
I'm am sincerely sorry for that statement.
