night at VMP

Well, I made my way back up to VMP to see if the Rockers made any
difference...

First - good news: I made it through the first 2 rounds of eliminations,
but I ran out the 3rd round by one-tenth of a second.

Bad news - The best I could do tonight was a 15.80, which is the same as my
previous best, and that was pretty decent launches tonight.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I should probably be pushing low 15's or
high 14's easy?!?!?!??!? Here's what I'm running:

97 CC 5.2
Accell Ignition system
JBA 9mm plug wires
Autolite 3923's gapped @.040
F&B 50mm TB
Gibson Catback side swept exhaust
Car Sound Cat
Hypertech PCM
1.7 Crower Rockers
IAT Adjuster (did not use)
Mopar chome Valve Covers

Truck weighs around 4,250 with me

I'm definitely getting some spark knock when the engine is hot and I'm
pushing it (180 T-stat going back in tommorrow, spring is here). My 15.80
run was when my engine was fairly cool. I do notice that it does not seem
to shift right when I'm running at the track. A lot of times on the street,
I'll watch it and it shifts between 4800 - 5000 RPM. Seems when I'm running
the track, it tends to shift around 4500 RPM, which is making it so I'm not
getting my powerband as much as I want it to. I'm sure getting the 180
t-stat will help my times be more consistant, but doubt it'll get me any
faster than the 15.80. What I don't understand is I was running 15.85
before the TB, Rockers, Cat, Ignition system, plug wires with another 150lbs
and very strong headwind.
