Gabe,
I've used Redline gear oil for quite some time now...in all the mustangs and
my friends used it in their camaros/mustangs as well. No problems
whatsoever, I'd highly recommend it. Even with the friction modifier in
there, it still usually needs about a half bottle of the stuff as well. (it
comes in like 5oz bottles or something) When you do it, I'd also highly
recommend that you get yourself some 1/8" cork sheet or some paper gasket
material and make your own gasket. That crap about using just the permatex
is ridiculous, it always leaks. This is the first vehicle that I've had or
any of my friends have had that doesn't use a gasket....
As far as the whole 75-90 v 80-90 discussion, it doesn't really matter that
much in my opinion. I always thought that you used 80-90 if you used dino
oil and 75-90 with synth oil. You should be fine running 75-90 in your
diff, I've had redline 75-90 in mine from day 1.
