   This probably isn't the sort of advice you were looking for but my
initial reaction to your post is that since you will probably be going
to a 9" or Dana 60 eventually, it seems like a waste to put any more
money into your existing rear.

   If it were me, I would probably just take it really easy until
the ol' bank account had recovered to the point where I could
afford to go with my first choice, a stout rearend. I'm pretty
cheap and when possible I like to try and "do the job right the
first time" (actually, I guess that's also because I'm cheap) ;-)
so when it comes to these sorts of decisions, any money I were to
put into the 8.25 my brain would consider "throwing it away", or
"could be a decent down payment" on the rearend I actually want. :-)

   Unless your current rearend is already shot, I would say it
will probably last quite a while if you can resist the lure of
the loud pedal. :-)
