it's a catch 22 for yah dave!
it may seem a bit high but then again if you know the guy and they do really
good work! then go for it!

1.shaved tailgate--no paint 150-200
 the guy that did my tailgate said 150 but would be 200 if it was a pain! I
guess some require more work than others!

2.hood -- 300-400 to paint maybe 500 if the fibreglass is a little crappy!

3.paint tailgate -- 350

are you having your door handles and mirrors painted ?

even if you are!
have them paint them and you install them!
if you are mechanically inclined you can do it yourself! and save you some
money!

you might want to get another quote but like you say if you know their
work!
and its top notch then go for it!
