Went Sunday to my friends house to change my oil, that was rather easy
except that no 2liter bottle was handy. after that we decided to get in our
Daks and check out one of the lakes for jet skiing next weekend. To get to
the lake you have to go thru some mud holes. The first few we went thru were
rather easy. It seemed that the further back we went the deeper they got.
Wouldn't you know, come to the last one we needed to go thru. My friend went
first, he struggled. I thought nothing of it. Go up a little more speed then
him. Hit the middle of the hole and came to a complete stop. All four tires
were of the ground. completely bottomed the frame out. It wasn't until he
started to pull me out that the passenger side doors went under water.
Luckily it was only about 3 inches. Well he only was able to drag me half a
foot or so. and couldn't pull any more do to loss of traction. So I get to
sit there for about half an hour til we found another guy out there with a
Ram 1500. It took him about four hard tugs to get me out.
So now after that experience I will be looking for what options I have on
raising my Dak for better clearance(increased height).
fortunately the only real damage i believe will be the padding under the
carpet.
