Hi Bill
Remember that factory max GVW capacity for any Dakota is about 2,000#'s.
There's a good deal more involved in safely carrying weight than just the
rated capacity of the rear springs, such factors as the capacity of tires &
wheels, rear axle, bearings, housing, bed floor, frame, etc all have application
here too. Make certain you check the factory max for GVW and max trailer
capacity for your model before you add a high capacity rear spring to ensure the
entire vehicle, not just the springs, is up to the kinds of loads you want to
carry.
