Several years ago, my grandmother gave her old car to my mother
(grandma lives in Canada, mom lives here in the US) and it was
fairly painless. I don't recall now if there was a fee or not,
but if so it was fairly cheap. I think they basically just needed
to check to make sure the car met the requirements in place in
the US at the time of manufacture.
Anyway, if it looks like it might be a hassle, that's another
option you may want to look at - give it to Jason's parents as
a "gift" and when you get into the US, they can sign the title
back over to you as a "gift"? I guess that might not work if
you are still making payments on it though. :-P Anyway, just
thought I would mention that on the off chance that it helps
at all.
