I know that doesn't work.
I live down the same road as one of Toronto's biggest auto auctions. I'd
guess that there are at least 1000 cars without front license plates
that travel the same road I do. (Front plates are mandatory in Ontario).
I had torn off my front plate backing through a ditch and just tossed it
in the back of the truck.
Out of this 1001 cars on the road, the cop pulls me over and gives me a
ticket for failing to display two plates. WTF?!?!
So much for community policing.
