They came stock on my 2000 Ram Sport 4x4 as well. Lousy tires with poor wet
weather traction, IMO. After about 10k miles, I was getting a very intermittent
but very noticeable shake in the front end of the truck when I hit a bump at
highway speeds. I was convinced it was something wrong with the truck and had
it to the dealer on several occasions. They were never able to reproduce the
shake (mostly because the stretch of highway where they test drove it, was
freshly paved and smooth), but on my word they balanced & rotated the tires and
put it on a front-end machine. After that, they started replacing front-end
parts. Track bar, rod ends, shocks, steering stabilizer and ball joints over
several visits to the service dept yet they were never able to resolve the
problem. Looking at the tires, 10k on a set of 60k radials, they were barely
showing any sighs of wear so we just naturally dismissed them as the cause. I
just lived with it since I needed the truck for my long commute to work (110+
miles a day). Fast-forward 1½ years and 50k miles, tires are worn, time for a
new set. I had a local tire shop replace them with another set of Goodyears.
Problem went away until about 10k miles then it slowly started doing it again.
Took the Goodyears off and replaced them with a set of BFGs. Another 20k with
no problems.
