That's Cafepress erring on the side of caution. This is simply a policy set by
their intellectual property staff (who apparently are interpreting the
copyright laws in a very restrictive manor)

Two years ago, I received the same BS e-mail from Cafepress about the calendar
I had up for the Mopars in Motion website which had a bunch of photos of club
member's cars. I responded to them that I, as the principal photographer of
the images hold the copyright to all of the images in question. I also made a
big stink claiming that this had been questioned before and "How many times
must we do this!!" and threatened to take my business to another vendor. They
quickly backed down and it hasn't been an issue with that calendar since. I’m
currently gathering photos for the club’s 2005 calendar. I’m sure, eventually,
it will get challenged again and I’ll make another stink with them. But so
far, every time I got loud, they backed off.

I agree it was a great solution, too bad their people don't understand how
copyright law really works when it comes to images of this nature. I have 1
solution that I'm going to look into first before I let the cat out of the bag.
I may be able to arrange for this to still work via Cafepress if they decide
they want to play hardball. I'll make a few phone calls and see what I can do.

I agree, I got the July pic right here (brass ones and all):

We just need 11 more!
