It's funny, it really just seems to vary by location. When I was in
Dallas/Ft. Worth, I found my c.b. to be invaluable for getting around in
traffic. You could always find out which lane was closed, where there was
an accident, best detours, etc. Then I moved to Florida, and the thing was
pretty much useless. Nobody talked, much less gave a report of anything.
SSB is pretty fun out in the sticks for shooting skip, but that's another
story. ;)

I used to use a Firestick, and I'd unscrew it and toss it behind the seat
whenever I didn't need it. Then I bought a Wilson magnet mount, which
performed every bit as good, and I could just put it on when I wanted to.
