I've been fired before and I've been given bad references as well and I've
always managed to get another job. Feeling sorry for yourself isn't going
to help you at all. If she's been "blacklisted" from her profession,
perhaps it's time for her to change professions and move on to something
different in another field. I realize that today's job market is pretty
tough, but there are certain types of businesses (usually any type of
restaurant; fast food or otherwise) that are *always* hiring, if you're
willing to go that route.

situation, but asking for a handout won't get you anywhere.
