| particular manufacturer's plant in Indiana (sounds like trying to blame
| someone else for a crappy design to me) but I think the recall is
| covering more than just that.
The numbers seem to indicate that there may be multiple sources for
balljoints.
600,000 4x4 Durangos & Dakotas, over 4 model years (2000-2003).
That averages to 75,000 vehicles per model per year. But we know Dodge
makes a lot more than that.
If it were *all* 4x4s affected, it would mean that a large majority of
the Daks & Durangos sold in that time were 2WD.
But I don't know the breakdown of 2WD vs. 4WD, nor the exact production
numbers. I know I see a lot more 4x4s of each model than 2WDs every
day, but this isn't exactly Miami or SoCal.
