Diesel - about 1qt added to your oil and run at idle (varying idle speed
occasionally) for about 20 minutes.

It really depends on how sludged up the engine is. If it's just mild,
the
Diesel (or whatever you wish to use) will clean it up. However, if
there's
a lot of sludge built up, you risk breaking it free and getting stuck
in the
oil pickup screen (which will starve the engine of oil).

Never heard of the engine running worse after the cleaning...exception
would
be as noted above (sludge breaking loose).
