LOL thanks for the encyclopedia length explanation there Bernd heh...
Just gonna call you "One Line Wonder" from now on heheehe :-P

Hiya Korey! I've got almost 50K miles on my 2001 Ram 4x4 and have not
changed the diff fluid. My 1989 2wd Dakota has never had it changed -
with 98K miles - and prior to having dunked my 1989 4x4 Dakota in the
drink, it had not had the fluid changed either. (79K miles)

Yes - its a good idea to change it every once in a while. I don't think
i would bother at 12K miles - I would say you could go 30K and be just
fine. I am planning on changing the fluids in my Ram's diffs as soon as
I get a chance however. As for the Dakota's - the 2wd doesnt run - and
the 4x4... well... diff fluid is the last thing I have to care about
with THAT truck. (Christine)

If you want to save the cost of having a Stealer do it - all you need is
a pair of drive-on truck ramps - if you change your own oil, you prolly
have those already. A can of "The Right Stuff" form a gasket, and the
correct fluid weight - and friction additive for Limited Slip equipped
differentials. Also - if your Diff were to grenade at only 12K miles -
then theres something seriously wrong there.
