I put about 70k miles since the swap with no serious engine problems. I
recently had the trans rebuilt but it was holding up OK, it was just
wearing out( 100k + miles since last rebuild ).
I think that the standard duty NV3500 was not setup for 335 ft lb of torque
that the 5.9 is listed as having. but it worked for me.
I ended up getting a PCM from a 1995 5 speed Ram and one from a 1995 auto
Ram due to a mixup in part numbers. Both work except the PCM for the auto
gives some pretty interesting codes occasionally and when I use 5 speed PCM
the shift indicator light stays on in 5th gear at odd times.
I do have a rough idle problem that I nor a Dodge dealers "specialist" nor
another mechanic can't resolve.
I towed my 24' TT from Georgia to Colorado with no transmission problems.
Just make sure the radiator is in good shape.
