Yep, the only problem I have had with using RTVs on gaskets was
with the oil pan on my Cuda. The pan sealing surface wasn't great
to begin with (wasn't as flat as it could have been), and unfortunately
I used too much RTV, which caused the gasket to slip out when I
tightened the bolts. Using less RTV and allowing it to tack up
longer solved the problem.
