One other alternative is the anarobic (or however you spell that) sealer
from Mopar. It's a red sealer that you can use on just about anything,
doesn't harden up where you have to chisle things off, and is very resistant
to oil/fuel. It's about $8.00 for the tube (but you can get it cheaper if
the dealer is "friendly"). That's about the only sealer I use on the
engines (plenum and intake manifold seals). All other gaskets use the Mopar
spray-on gasket sealer.

Yep, the only problem I have had with using RTVs on gaskets was
with the oil pan on my Cuda. The pan sealing surface wasn't great
to begin with (wasn't as flat as it could have been), and unfortunately
I used too much RTV, which caused the gasket to slip out when I
tightened the bolts. Using less RTV and allowing it to tack up
longer solved the problem.
