I agree with the nay sayers if you can get it to 130 I would be suprised. Just
not enough power for the aero dynamic drag. A simple rule of thumb is to double
the speed you need four times the power. I have never owned a stock vehicle
that could pull redline in top gear so 3300 rpm at 115 means nothing. I would
venture a guess top speed of your Dakota will be in 4th gear or possible 3rd
gear.
Car and Driver could only get an SRT-10 RAM Quad Cab to 147mph and the current
Viper SRT-10 has a claimed top speed of 190 (theoretical top speed if the car
could pull red line in 6th is over 300, just to give you an idea how much power
is required to go fast). Corvettes, Camaros and Firebirds of the late 80's with
250HP 5.7's had top speeds in the 140's.
