I vaguely recall my dad asking something similar regarding his Jeep and they
fed him something about "covering your liability if your stationary car
suddenly POPS OUT OF GEAR in your driveway and rolls over someone" or some
nonsense like that. The only way they'd let him take it off liability
insurance while it was being stored during the winter was if he assured them
it was up on blocks and completely immobilized so that couldn't happen.
In other words, he who has the gold, makes the rules.
