: I think part of what threw it off when he bobbed the bed was he started with a
: long bed truck. So the proportions just didn't look right with the long
: wheelbase. Now that he back-halved it, I think he should have moved the rear
: axle forward a tad more. It would have had a better balance IMO. But now he
: doesn't have a bed, he just cut the skins off the sides of the bed and attached
: them to the tube chassis. I don't know, I'm kind of torn. While I like what he
: did, I don't know if I would have put in the effort to save the sides of the
: bed. I may have left the tube chassis bare. He has a few photos in his "Mods"
: gallery of it before he added the bed sides and I think I liked it better. Take
: a look, you'll see what I mean.

I agree with you. The bare tube chassis looked better before he put the
skins on it. If someone was to bob their bed, I think they'd almost have to
leave the lights and tailgate in place to make it look right, but if you're
not going to do that, then at that point, ditch the entire bed and go for
the buggy look, cause without the back part of the bed, anything that
remotely resembles the original bed is just gonna look out of place, IMHO.
