Yes, a big thanks to Jon and family... particularly for letting us
tear up his lawn and trails, and for the use of his barn! Great to
meet all you guys! There wasn't even any hazing or humiliating
initiation for us newbies to endure!
I had a blast out there, and will most definitely return. I've never
had this truck so deep in mud. I'm very happy with it's performance,
though... and to continue bragging, I have to say it did a great job
of pulling Steve and Ben out of the mud hole :) To my surprise, I got
the Steiger mud came out of my clothes with a quick hose rinse
followed by just one wash cycle. Cleaning the truck won't be so
simple. In the meantime, I'll flaunt it proudly through West Hartford
:)
Only minor damages to report... I fried the pressure switch which
controls my on-board air compressor. I should maybe come up with a way
to protect it.. or at least clean off the mud next time before I try
turning it on. I didn't like the range it switched at anyway...
85-90psi is a little weak. The compressor can handle 150psi, so I'll
get one with a higher cutoff and a wider "off" range.
Alright I feel like I'm rambling. So thanks to everyone for a great
time! I plan to return for the next Steiger gathering!
