He's doing just fine. He turned 82 while he was in the
rehab hospital and they originally predicted he would
need to be in there for up to 12 weeks. He was home in
one! As a matter of fact, he had the surgery on the
9th of Jan and was home from all hospitals on the
30th, just 3 weeks later, I talked to him yesterday
and he said he is now walking around the house without
even using his cane.

Never leave the bike out. Most fuel efficient vehicle
you have? The bike. It leave you extra money to spend
on the Daks, the gas hog, and the rollerskate!

Sounds like a plan to me! I just have the Dak (98) and
my Bandit (97). My GF has her Cherokee (97) and we got
her a older (83) Yamaha Seca 750, with full fairing,
windshield, hard saddlebags and tail trunk. I had
someone ask me just last Friday what year my bike was
and when I told him it was a 97, he didn't believe me.
He said it looks too nice to be 10 years old.

Yep that is just about around the block for Northern
California. I have too much fun riding my bike, is
there such a thing as too much fun? Of course, my
Bandit only has 22K miles on it, and I have put over
16K of those miles on it since I bought it in 2004,
I've gotten plenty of use from it. I plan to get a lot
more this summer. My trip to Yosemite will be about
600 miles round trip and the other to the Pacific
coast and Redwood National Park will be about the same
or a little more, all in the same week. I have another
trip planned in May that will run me to just north of
Pioneer, a little place in Amaderas County, that will
be about 400 miles round trip plus a few other rides
through out the summer. I can easily see close to 10K
miles on my bike this year. At nearly 50 MPG I can
afford trips like that. Even with gas here in my home
town over $3/gallon.

Ray

Some risk is necessary in life. Without risk, the new world wouldn't have been discovered, man wouldn't have landed on the moon and we wouldn't ride motorcycles.
