Thanks for all the replies to my original question. It seems I need to
figure out what best suits my needs. As I said, 2 computers are for my
wife's business (soon to be 3), my laptop and my kids computer.
I will also want to add a Media Center computer soon in our living room.
As I understand there's 2 basic types of network storage. A NAS unit, which
is some hard drives and a stripped down OS, or an actual server that needs a
full OS). Of course this is over simplified though and maybe even
incorrect.
I'm sorry to drag this out but how do these 2 solutions differ from each
other? Pros and cons?
Reading about Windows Home Server seems to be a nice solution but so does a
NAS like the ones referenced previously:

Does wanting to have a Media Center computer in my network make a
difference?
Thanks again!
James
