I enjoy reading as well but, that is my whole point. This list has
become a few select that post and for the most part there isn't anything
posted that relates to dakotas "Other than Bob having issues with his
ball joints and shocks ;)". Maybe I'm a little anal but, I've asked
countless numbers of questions on this board and most of them get pushed
to the side and never answered. Maybe my posts a too technical for the
few that are left on the list? I've been a member of this list since
junish of '97 and have answered any question that I had suggestions for
or knew anything about. Now My ol' truck is geting up there in age the
tech side of this board has left. Other than Bernd that came out of
retirement. Seems as if the last 3-4yrs have been nothing but chat from
a select few. Maybe all things come to an end and people move on. I've
spent 10yrs reading posts here.. That's one third of my life. Maybe
it's time to find a more technical board that has more experence in
dealing with technical problems that relate to autos.

Well - I guess you are partially correct Hop - the membership of the DML
has changed greatly over the years. We've lost a lot of members. Adam
Blaster, Andy, Neil Bellinger, Dakota Dodge, Ed Halterman, etc etc etc -
all no longer own Dakotas - heck - you just sold yours too! I have
three run down Daks in need of restorations - I'm not posting much
Dakota content of my own because I dont have any. My daily driver is a
beater Neon. My Ram gets driven less than 4000K miles a year.

Plus - my specific area of knowedge is limited to Gen I and II trucks.
Older models that are in use less, have high milage, and are starting to
get regulated to beater work trucks and scrap yard fill. I've only
driven a Gen III on a couple occasions, and I have only test driven a
Gen IV once.

If someone posts questions on a Gen I or II - I can answer just about
anything they can think to ask me. Ask me a Gen III question - I might
be able to tell you - ask a Gen IV or V question? Nope. I know the
3.9L, the 318 and 360 very well - I know less about the 3.7 and 4.7L

People who had them before are replacing their older models with
cars/trucks other than Dakotas. And we don't have the influx of new
membership because the Dak sucks now and people are not buying them -
gas prices are not helping truck sales either. I'm sure the DML had a
lot of membership that were people who were fairly new to trucks, who
might not have bought a truck otherwise, back when fuel was lower in
cost and the Daks LOOKED better.

Anyway..

*shrugs* I think I'm outta stuff to say on this one
