Front diff fun... Dakvert drives again

I took the truck out for a spin finally. What a difference a couple
motor mounts make. And I put the exhaust back together too... I can
hold a conversation inside the cab!

Also, if you remember (or care hehe) I mentioned that when my motor
mounts failed, the front diff got loose and the driveshaft sheered
it's retainers & bolts off. After failing to extract the bolts and
failing to successfully drill, tap, and helicoil, I decided to pick up
a junkyard diff and get it over with! The replacement is from a '91
truck. It has vacuum disconnect (so apparently some Gen IIs have vac
disconnect).
So I grabbed the custom modified disconnect cover assembly from my
truck's diff. (A couple years ago I cut and assembled a piece of steel
tube into the fork & shaft assembly to keep the fork permenantly in
the "engaged" position.) A little floor jack wrestling and I got it
installed.

Hmm Jon, you have a welder, right? Maybe at the BBQ I could use it to
put a couple tack welds in one of my exhaust pipe joints. Not sure how
long the clamp will hold it and I don't have a welder yet... it's high
on my list of wants, but there are too many needs in my way right now.

Next big project is to rehab the cooling system (will probably just
flush it to get it through the summer). The pusher fans aren't pulling
their weight. I'm sure you'll see me shut the truck off regularly
during BBQ trail rides.
