Exhaust Blowout on a Mopar 300hp Crate
Running the numbers on a mild 360

Also take a close look at the dyno chart results from this
test...specifically at an rpm YOUR engine will see.
---------------
The best flowing OEM small block exhaust manifolds (prior to 1992) are the
'68-'70 340 manifolds. Along about 1993 Mopar Performance published a
comparison between those and the '92-'93 Magnum truck exhaust manifolds. (I
have the article here somewhere) They found that, while one side flowed
slightly less than the 340's, the other side was better. They stated that,
as a pair, the Magnum manifolds flow every bit as well as the earlier HiPo
340's. (I still have a pair of each) :-)
None of the earlier 360 exhaust manifolds even come close and none were
offered in a Dakota....so fitment to the rest of the system may be an issue
if you go that route.
Tom....the '88-'92 Ram truck 360's should have the larger TB you want. Have
you looked for one of those? Since '92-'93 Magnum 318 PCM's were the same
for Daks and Rams, I'd suspect the '89 Ram 360 computer for a TBI system
should hook right up to your '89 Shelby. ?
