The factory pumps have a habit of loosing volume at higher rpm's. The
flowkooler uses a disc/plate on the back of the impeller to prevent this.
Worked well on my old BB Chevy as well. For stock applications though, it's
not required since they don't see the higher RPM's as with the built-up
engines.

How is the volume going to be any higher unless it increases the pressure in
the system?? You aren't increasing the size of the hoses/t-stat opening,
and your radiator cap regulates the system pressure. I'm just trying to
figure out why the Flowkooler is supposed to be worth the price they want
for it on 99% of the trucks people buy it for??

It's not going to flow any faster...volume will be better though and less
chance of cavitation. The radiators efficiency is also influenced via the
shroud, fan, fan clutch, and bugs (build up on the core causing poor heat
transfer).
The coolant flow is primarily controlled via the t'stat anyway.

Mostly true, but it would bring the max and min temps of the water
in the system closer together, which means cooler engine water and
warmer radiator water. The warmer rad water would also give off
heat faster.
