I think starting with a 4x2 frame would be easier. If I planned to do
it again I'd look into it more thoroughly.

low on leaf springs just plain won't happen. low on coilovers can be
done. I've actually seen one Gen II on leafs that didn't look tall on
33s, I don't know how he did it. the leaf springs just end up at the
wrong angle and both caster and pinion angle are screwed unless you do
shims (I wouldn't trust on a front axle) or figure out how to rotate
the perch - maybe it could be machined..... but they are cast into the
diff housing so I don't know how else it could be done.
